Honestly speaking, Eastern culture fascinates me, but I am not blindly obsessed with it. I am very aware we should never generalize. And we need to understand that those beautiful and romantic characters in dramas and pop bands are not the norm. Let's be realistic -especially you, the one saving a little money to make THE trip. If you imagine visiting Korea and finding Kim Hyun Joongs walking around, equals to a Korean visiting Puerto Rico or Venezuela to meet a Miss Universe on the spot, for real?
During the search for other cultures we will find something more valuable: diversity. We get to know people and cultures different form ours. Something than only brings positive things, as well as, broadens the possibilities to new opportunities. We can recall from our mother's stories that 40 years ago this was something very hard to achieve for Latinas, I'd say almost impossible.
And there's so many ways to dive into other cultures, mostly in the world of blogs. I really like Ivan.Korea.Diversion. This is a Puerto Rican young man, living and working in Korea. His comments are very matter-of-factly and entertaining. He recounts his daily life experiences from a creative and original perspective, and tells us how it's going for him in Korea, for real!

Also, it's so simple to connect with people from other countries, plus make good cyber-friends. Just like the friend I told you about last week ("sexy voice" friend) that lives in a Sub-continent South Asia country. I've know him for a little more than five years and he has always been the same genuine and kind person. Besides, look at his pic, cute! right? And he is NOT a drama actor or any other gimmick, he's for real. I asked him to invite his good friends (not like the perverts you find in other sites) to visit Fusion LatinAsia, so they can get to know the true Latinas. Although we do not take in offense the "hot and sexy" stereotype, we are for real!
